Job Description
Financial Management’s mission is to provide Private Banking Business Area management and the front with timely and meaningful information / analysis to support decision making that leads to stronger business performance of the Business Area and the bank. Our unit’s mandate therefore covers the following:
• Creating awareness on current or potential financial performance gaps through high quality, timely and accurate performance measurement, analysis and internal reporting (in the dimensions of organisational units, businesses, regions, clients, products and P&L line items )
• Establishing an early warning system for the Business Area and proposing measures for management to explore available potentials and/or close the gaps i.e. building business intelligence that can steer the business
• Pro-active management of investment portfolio and benefits tracking of strategic initiatives
• Supporting the Business Area and Front management in the performance assessment of its banker and advisor force including the tracking of strategic new hires
• Supporting and assisting management in all financial data related topics and act as a business enabler / centre of competence
Role Outline
• Develop, drive and perform the strategic business planning for Private Banking markets covered out of Hong Kong. Setting budgeting calendar and timelines in alignment with corporate timelines
• Provide medium term perspectives and forecasts with insights built from internal business intelligence and research
• Efficient and effective handling of requests related to front management tools
• Conceptualise, develop or implement with regional and global management scorecards for Private Banking units
• Support the management of Financial Management in interfaces with regional management and departmental management when required
• Provide independent reviews on strategic initiatives including front office hires and organic footprint buildups
• Ensure delivery of regular and adhoc management reports, analysis /presentations required by regional senior management
• Support Financial Management in in-depth analysis of business performance and the formulation of recommendations and actions where required

The Private Banking Training Program itself aims to prepare you to successfully perform on the job. You will be provided with an in-depth overview of the products and services provided by Private Banking as well as the skills you need to launch, grow and manage your own business and to develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships. A number of networking opportunities throughout the program will allow you to network with senior management and establish cross-divisional relationships also. A rigorous performance management process will ensure you are clear on your objectives and development points.
Qualifications
To join our program you must have a Bachelors degree. You do not need a particular background to fit into our challenging, fast-paced environment. Key attributes we seek include: Strong interaction skills, team player attitude, analytical and process-oriented mindset in order to identify areas for improvement, a positive can-do attitude with a high level of integrity and client rapport building skills. Good English skills are vital for this position, additional languages are definitely advantageous.
